Taylor Made Homes

National Faith Homebuyers programAn innovative partnership between the City of Taylor and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development will result in some neighborhood revitalization. The partnership recently launched "Taylor Cares" to provide affordable housing and reduce blight caused by empty homes in foreclosure.

The city recently purchased 11 HUD homes, for $1 each, which had been sitting vacant on the market at least six months. The HUD homes were owned by the federal government after their owners lost them through foreclosure.

After renovations, the homes will be available for sale to low- or moderate-income individuals or families, with financing assistance provided through the National Faith Homebuyers. The first homes are expected to be available by Spring 2008.
