Detroit Places 40th on NY Times Top 53 Places To Visit

New Asian Gallery in renovated DIA in 40th Place DetroitCheck out the recent New York Times travel article "The 53 Places To Go in 2008". Coming in at 40th place, Detroit tops New York, Las Vegas, and San Diego!

The Times cites the new MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino Hotel, and the historic Book Cadillac Hotel being transformed into the Westin Book Cadillac as hoteliers being bullish on Detroit. Another big plus is the newly renovated Detroit Institute of the Arts.

Hmmm, why is bad press on the front page of the local papers while good press is buried deep inside?
